Class With The Amazing Finnabair!

Hi Friends! A couple of weeks ago, thanks to Karen Mattison,  I had the privilege of taking a class taught by the amazing artist, designer and educator, Ania Dabrowska (Finnabair)! She is truly amazing, so talented and fun to be around, not to mention a fabulous teacher! The class was held at our local scrapbook store, Pages In Time/ Purses and More, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Only having dabbed a tiny bit in mixed media, I'm now truly loving it and can't wait to get started on my next Finnabair inspired project!

I wanted to share my journal cover, made with lots of Finnabair Mechanicals and LuminArte Silk Acrylic Glazes
Hope you all have a fabulous week!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

A "Gorjuss Girl" Get Well Card!

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a good summer. Hubby and I were just getting used to the whole empty nesters way of life, when daughter #3 injured her back. I spent 2 wks in the hospital with her following surgery, which was on Mothers Day. She too has Lupus...Needless to say Lupus always makes everything far more complicated than you're ever prepared for. Thankfully, she is doing much better and looking forward to going back to work in a couple of weeks. Clearly, moving home wasn't part of her summer plan, but I think we can agree,  we're all very thankful to have one another!

Thought I would share a cute little Get Well Card made with my very favorite stamps. Like many of you, I am a Gorjuss Girl fan! This stamp is the "Pretend Friend" Gorjuss Girl.

The image was colored with Copic Markers. I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch, Sizzix Ornate Frame, Prima Flowers and My Minds Eye Paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Would love it if you'd leave a comment.
See you next time!

Happy Mothers Day!

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! I have a fun little project to share this week, in honor of Mothers Day. This project was completely inspired by Bona, from Livelovescrap.  She has a tutorial on you tube which will take you through the process of making this adorable  little house box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPHGgYdd_K0.
The beautiful paper is from Marion Smith's Motley Paper Collection http://marionsmithdesigns.com. The flowers and laces are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the resin frame is from Melissa Frances!

Hope you enjoyed this little project and will give it a try.
Have a very Happy Mothers Day!

Freedom's Flight!

Hello Friends! Hope you're having a relaxful weekend! We're finally saying goodbye to the frigid temps…at least temporarily! I don't know about you but I can't wait for SPRING to arrive!

I thought it would be fun to create a layout of my hubby enjoying a day of cycling!

The layout was created using the digital printables form Garett Smith's "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and Marion Smith's "Grand" and "Scarlet" printables, found at MarionSmithDesigns.com. The "Bicycle Classics" digital stamp is by KPertiet from DesignerDigitals.com. The frame is by Melissa Renfro from Scrapgirls.com. I used an Aged Metal Style in Rust by Brandy Murry, also from Scrapgirls.com. I really loved the way it matched the rust color of the bridge. The paint splatters are by BellaGypsy "You Are My Happy", Scrapgirls.com, colored with a Distress Brown Style from Brandy Murry. Each of the photo mats and shapes were created using Syndee Nuckles "Shapes Fancy" from her ScrapSimple Tools line found at Scrapgirls. As someone who loves my Big Shot die cutting machine, I really enjoy using these shapes when creating digital pages, to achieve the same type of result.

I had so much fun creating this digital layout and not one flower, can you believe it? As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by! Would love to have you join my blog! Be well and see you soon!

My Special Valentine!

Happy Valentines Day, Friends! I have a very special layout to share with you! I'm very blessed to have a hubby that has been by my side for over 23 years, loving me everyday and holding my hand until falling asleep every night. He is my rock, my everything and my forever!

I enjoyed using the burlap for the base page with the damask overlay. It gave it the formal look it needed and was a little unexpected!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs!

My Precious Valentines!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Thought I'd share a quick and easy layout with you. I was inspired by Becky Higgins and Project Life. Wanting to give it a try, I decided to make my own digital version using a grid on Photoshop Elements. The grid made building a frame fairly easy. Saving it in a digital format means that it can be used over and over again, which I love! The digital papers and embellies were from the kit Pink, by Vinnie Pearce, purchased from Scrapbook Graphics.

Steampunk Glamour!

Hi Everyone! I have a fun piece to share with you. It was a complete surprise, as I was just playing around with digi masks, brushes and blending modes. Jamie's picture reminded me of Vintage Hollywood so I wanted to use browns and creams for a sepia finish. As you can see, masks can be used in many ways. Instead of using them to achieve s seamless blended finish, I extended the edges beyond the photo, adding more than one mask, leaving a blotchy painted look to the page. Adding a Damask style brush added some elegance, while using the Steampunk brush as a crown added a bit of whimsy. I finished with a piece of jewelry from my Grandmother. It's all about having fun…Hope you'll join me!

Hello everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the holidays!  We were blessed to have all 4 girls together for Christmas.  Our daughter flew in from San Francisco, spent 2 weeks with us, flew home in order to work for a couple of weeks, then flew back to Nebraska to spend another week with us.  Sadly, she is heading back to school in just 2 short days.  I will miss her so much but am very thankful for every day we've had together!  It's a lot of fun when your kiddos grow up and think of you as their best friend!

Love you, baby girl!
