Hello everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the holidays!  We were blessed to have all 4 girls together for Christmas.  Our daughter flew in from San Francisco, spent 2 weeks with us, flew home in order to work for a couple of weeks, then flew back to Nebraska to spend another week with us.  Sadly, she is heading back to school in just 2 short days.  I will miss her so much but am very thankful for every day we've had together!  It's a lot of fun when your kiddos grow up and think of you as their best friend!

This was a special gift for my Mom. I wanted her to know how much I admired her strength and courage as she battled breast cancer 12 years ago. She is truly a survivor! I love you Mom!

Simply Shabby Card!

I wanted to share a shabby card inspired by the amazing artist, Jules! We both fell in love with a card we'd seen on Pinterest. Jules, the wonderful artist that she is, was able to create something all her own, the result was simply beautiful. After seeing her tutorial, I couldn't wait to make my own!

The paper- DCWV- Primrose, Sheet Music from a Thrift Shop, Doily Die- Cheery Lynn Designs- English Tea Party, Flowers- Wild Orchid Crafts, Congratulations Stamp- We R Memory Keepers- Antique Chic. I stamped the image onto card stock and glued it to a wooden oval piece for added dimension. Twine, Cheese Cloth, Gesso and Netting for added texture. Metal Heart- JoAnns.

Courage!

The past 10 days have been very special and something I will always cherish. We were able to fly our daughter home from San Francisco for a much needed break from school and visit with family and friends. She has been attending college full time, working and staying up until all hours of the morning studying. Needless to say, she couldn't wait to get home and we couldn't wait to have her home!

She and I have always wanted to create a project together. I was thrilled to learn that she had been designing something very special for me...A beautiful digital doll stamp! I watched as she sat at her computer drawing each little detail, from clothing to make up. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to create my first layout with my very own stamp. Her name is Sage!

I chose Marion Smith's new digital printable line, Scarlet! The butterfly patterned background held a special meaning for me, as the butterfly is the symbol for Lupus. The past few weeks have been met with several complications, as a result I decided to title my layout, "Courage!"

Prima Doll Pocket!

Thought I'd share another Prima Doll Pocket! This one is very similar to the one I made for Jodie and will be on display at the Pages In Time Scrapbook Store. The paper is from My Minds Eye. I often work with both 12x12 sheets of paper as well as a 6x6 paper pad. So many colors and patterns and everything is coordinated...Love it!

How Time Flies!

How is it possible that my youngest daughter will turn 20 y.o. tomorrow? No longer a teen, in what seems like the blink of an eye, she's become a beautiful young woman! I honestly couldn't be prouder!

Wanting to make something special but needing to keep it simple, I decided to make her a little pouch, which would be perfect as a money or gift card holder. I'd seen Marion Smith and Steff Miller make these several times and always loved the way they looked. I used a black Celebration bag from Michaels, which was the perfect height to hold my Prima Doll Stamp. To cover the pouch I used Marion Smith's Garment District Printables...love the muted vintage look! For the journaling spot I used Marion Smith's Cottage Chic Printables, decreasing the size to 3". I stamped the doll image on a Prima Julie Nutting Tag, then used My Minds Eye Papers for the dress as well as the doily, from Tim Holtz On The Edge Die. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little wood bird is from Prima, which I distressed with Prima Chalk Ink. I also used the chalk inks to distress my edges. I love the way it glides onto the paper, leaving the perfect amount of coverage...thank you, to Ingvild Bolme.

A Sweet Little Pocket Box Mini Album!

We all know people who truly inspire us to be better.  I'm always amazed at Steff Miller's ability to design a mini album that is pure eye candy! Her blog is, http://withagrin.blogspot.com/  She's also a wonderful educator with Prima! To create this project you may copy and paste the URL to your browser. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/33241421. In her tutorial she will take you through the process step by step. You can change the order of your page construction as I did, to make it your own!  I also changed it up a bit by using the Lyric and Divine Paper Collections, by Prima!  The embellishments used are also from Prima!  Hope you'll give this one a try!

As always, I appreciate all of you so very much!  As many of you know I struggle daily with Lupus and Scleroderma. Many of us are on chemo and other IV meds to help control our disease. Unfortunately, these drugs leave us with an immune system suppressed and vulnerable to serious infections, which can also be life threatening. A recent CT Scan has detected what may be a serious and rare type of pneumonia.  I will have a Bronchoscopy tomorrow. Once the samples of my lung are analyzed we will discuss a treatment plan, which will include 3 antibiotics for a year and possible lung resection if the treatment fails. I am usually very brave but I can honestly say, I'm scared and would appreciate your prayers...Love & Hugs,
